“The Latin American Photography Book : The best kept secret in the history of photography” Martin Parr
The idea of searching and presenting the best photography books of Latin America was born in the first Latin American forum of photography in São Paulo, in 2007. On this occasion we observed the lack of a critical mapping of the books published in the twentieth century on this continent.
The exhibition presents 40 photography books created between 1921 and 2012. The show will follow a route consisting of original books, antique editions, films, maquettes and citations.
The selection is based around six subjects:
- History and Propaganda
- Urban Photography
- Photo Essays
- Artists Books
- Literature and Photography
- Contemporary Books
