Dominique Petitgand

Born in 1965 in Laxou, he lives and works in Paris.

Dominique Petitgand conceives and produces a set of sound plays, spoken, musical or quiet which can be heard through viarous devices : sound facilities, live in the dark and CD publishing.

Dominique Petitgand defines his work as "mental tales and landscapes". He develops his work from conversation, silence, breathing, noise and music recordings. He inventories, in a almost obsessional way, always musical voices, gestures, moods, in order to take cognizance of words, a state or a lack. He plays with elements hinge to bring some mental images out. An inner space where repetition, identities wavering, temporal places and structures evoke the very movement of the construction and defection of memory.

Through his sound plays, Dominique Petitgand creates up-and-coming stories, which only belong to the audience.
