Perec / Ponte : Journeys
Create the inventory of a place, it is opening it to find time again, to stumble on it, as Georges Perec did when he made the inventory of Vilin street and find the hairdressing salon's sign, last trace of his mother dead in Auschwitz. Ponte City by Mikhael Subotzky and Patrick Waterhouse is also a journey through time, a trip across the history of South Africa since the mid 70s. By the lecture of south-africans poems and texts by Georges Perec, Denis Hirson and Sonia Emmanuel invite the audience to question the historical, political, personnal and aesthetic sense of this immersion in Time.
Born in 1951, Denis Hirson is a writer and one of the main introducers to South-African poetry in France. His many books conserve the collective memory on apartheid. Sonia Emmanuel is a comedian and a director, host of la Compagnie du Libre-échange.
