HANNAH DARABI

ENGHELAB STREET, A REVOLUTION THROUGH BOOKS. IRAN 1979-1983

Co-edited by LE BAL and Spector Books for the exhibition at LE BAL, the publication presents the original collection of photographic and political books by Iranian artist Hannah Darabi.

Accompanied by a critical apparatus written by Chowra Makaremi, a researcher in anthropology at the CNRS, the book combines a precise and exhaustive presentation of the collection with Hannah Darabi's work, Reconstructions, thus proposing a renewed reading of this collection. By its subject, its scope, its scientific rigour and its original artistic proposal, this book constitutes a unique and original testimony.
