STARTING FROM A RESEARCH PROBLEM THAT IS RENEWED EACH YEAR, THIS TRANSDISCIPLINARY SEMINAR CONSIDERS THE CHALLENGES OF THE IMAGE-DOCUMENT AND GRASPS WHAT THE NOTION OF DOCUMENT ASSOCIATED WITH DIFFERENT FIELDS OF STUDY CAN COVER IN ALL ITS DIVERSITY AND COMPLEXITY. CASE STUDIES ARE GIVEN BY RENOWNED GUESTS FROM DIFFERENT FIELDS OF KNOWLEDGE AND OF THE HISTORY OF FORMS.

Thomas Schlesser, moderator of the seminar, is director of the Hartung-Bergman Foundation and professor of art history at the École Polytechnique. He has recently published L'univers sans l'homme, les arts contre l'anthropocentrisme [Universe without man, the arts against anthropocentrism], published by Hazan (2016). 

With Maxime Bondu, artist - Elsa Boyer, writer, video game specialist - Roberto Casati, philosopher, director of research at the CNRS - Marc Leschelier, architect - Vincent Lowy, professor of film studies, director of the École nationale supérieure Louis-Lumière - Marielle Macé teaches French literature and literary thought at the EHESS and at the École normale supérieure - Pauline Mari, art historian - Abraham Poincheval, artist - Sophie Ristelhueber, photographer - Yves Sarfati, professor of psychiatry and psychoanalyst, Université Paris 7 Diderot - Bertrand Tillier, professor of contemporary history at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne - Pierre Wat, art historian, professor at the Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.
