O universo nu
In line with the JUNE EVENTS festival, l’Atelier de Paris-Carolyn Carlson/Centre de développement chorégraphique and LE BAL gather to present the performed play by Célia Gondol.
Between oral tradition, poetry, singing and cosmogony, the plastic artist and dancer concocted a mix during a stay in São Paulo. She draws an ensemble of allegories used in cosmology from her meeting with an author of "Cordel literature" (a popular poetry distributed in the form of printed booklets or pamphlets and sold in street markets and by street vendors in Brazil) who is also singer "repentista" (between improvisation and oral clash). In response to the first step of her work, sung and recorded, O Universo nu is a performed choir by three singers which makes resonate the Universe sounds, in the exhibition Batia Suter Radial Grammar at LE BAL.
With Olivier Normand, dancer, comedian, singer and Nina Santes, singer, dancer, choreographer.
Through installations, performances and videos, Celia Gondol questions the limits of representation and the possibilities of transmission and interpretations. Her work is part of various fields such as the astrophysics one, the choreographical one or the philosophical and spiritual one.
