LE BAL AND SFR YOUNG TALENTS HAVE PARTNERED TO LAUNCH IN 2009 THE FIRST PRIZE DEDICATED TO ART SCHOOLS.
This prize, intended exclusively for students at the end of their studies, aims to support the realisation of a first documentary creation project, by awarding a 5,000 euro grant and by providing access to a network of professionals (graphic designers, publishers, gallery owners, critics...).
The jury, composed in 2009 of Jean-Yves Jouannais (critic and exhibition curator), Mathieu Pernot (artist), Diane Dufour (Le BAL), Fannie Escoulen (Le BAL) and Véronika Mirsky (SFR programme manager / young talents), chose to award Teufelsberg by Marie Sommer.
Teufelsberg (Devil's Mountain) is an artificial hill located southwest of Berlin, overlooking the city.
A popular leisure park for young Berliners, this hill was built after the war on the site of the Third Reich Military Academy, recycling the rubble of Berlin into ruins. There are no signs, no signs to indicate to today's walker the origin of the site. Marie Sommer offers us an overview of the place, between bucolic ramblings and amnesic journeys.
