Co-director of LE BAL

Christine Vidal joined LE BAL at its inception in 2010. For the past 10 years, she has been instrumental in establishing the rigor and renown of La Fabrique du Regard, LE BAL's educational platform. She has implemented 7 programs that train young people aged 6 to 20 to become active observers with a civic mindset. In line with this, Christine Vidal conceived ERSILIA, a digital platform for image education: www.ersilia.fr, launched in May 2016.

She has also led the overarching policy for research and programming of multidisciplinary event cycles (meetings, debates, concerts, performances, film series...) around exhibitions. She co-directed the collection Les Carnets du BAL with Diane Dufour in partnership with the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales and the Centre National des Arts Plastiques. This collection is the only collective journal in France that explores the challenges of contemporary image through unique interventions by artists, historians, philosophers, and anthropologists. She taught contemporary and modern art history at the École Professionnelle Supérieure des Arts Graphiques de la Ville de Paris, Ivry – EPSAA (from 2001 to 2007) and at the University Paris-Dauphine (from 2001 to 2008), while simultaneously developing new pedagogical approaches at the cultural service of the Jeu de Paume (from 2001 to 2008).
