Meeting with Mark Ghuneim

Thursday January 11, 2018 - 8 PM

Katja Stuke

Mark Ghuneim, an experienced observer of technological innovation, is behind the Surveillance Index initiative, a collection of over 200 photography books on surveillance. You can meet the New York-based collector during the launch of Performing Books #1: Surveillance Index at BAL from 10 to 27 January.

Mr. Ghuneim will open the first Performing Books by discussing his collection’s genesis and content and the self-published 2017 book Surveillance Index. The collection’s works are based on four pillars: state control, public surveillance, identity and voyeurism. He will have a conversation with Emilie Lauriola, manager of the BAL bookshop and the Surveillance Index programme.
