What is common to the works that make up this book? They were all conceived in a one-on-one dialogue between the artist and their mother. Going beyond the mere testimony of an inevitably unique intimate relationship, the selected works are constructed using devices that involve the mother’s body, figure, or character in the creative process. Texts by the artists discussing the uniqueness and explicit or implicit issues are included alongside the reproduced works. The radical and minimalist layout creates a strong connection between the texts and images; the reader navigates from one artist to another through this universal theme.
