THE FALL SEMINAR OF LE BAL AT EHESS AIMS TO EXPLORE THE CHALLENGES OF THE CONTEMPORARY IMAGE AND TO GRASP THE NOTION OF VISUAL "DOCUMENT" IN ALL ITS DIVERSITY. FOR ITS ELEVENTH EDITION, THE FALL SEMINAR OF LE BAL ADDRESSES THE ISSUE OF IMAGES ENGAGED IN COMBAT.

This year two-day seminar was conceived with Nicole Brenez, professor at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle-Paris 3, director of the Department of Analysis and Culture at La Fémis and programmer for numerous institutions and festivals. 

With the interventions of Robert Bonamy, lecturer in cinema - Pascale Cassagnau, head of audiovisual and new media funds at the Centre national des arts plastiques - Vincent Coupard, author - David Faroult, lecturer in cinema at the ENS Louis-Lumière - Stéphane Gérard, filmmaker - Brigitte Gothière, co-founder of L214 - Clarisse Hahn, artist - Nicolas Klotz, director - Lech Kowalski, director - Jonathan Larcher, anthropologist and filmmaker - Jean-Marc Manach, journalist - Florent Marcie, filmmaker - Valérie Massadian, filmmaker - Alo Paistik, film researcher at the EHESS - Jonathan Palumbo, author, student at La Fémis - Elisabeth Perceval, filmmaker - Gilles Peress, photographer - Vincent Perrottet, graphic designer - Iro Siafliaki, filmmaker - Philippe Tancelin, poet and philosopher, professor at Université Paris 8 Vincennes - Saint-Denis. 

In partnership with the Ministère de l’Éducation nationale, the Ministère de la Culture, the Centre national des arts plastiques and the École des hautes études en sciences sociales.
