Structure-couple / Cosy

AS PART OF THE JUNE EVENTS FESTIVAL, L’ATELIER DE PARIS CAROLYN CARLSON / CHOREOGRAPHIC DEVELOPMENT CENTRE AND LE BAL ARE TEAMING UP TO PRESENT A CHOREOGRAPHIC PERFORMANCE BY Strcuture-Couple.
Enveloped by the corrosive light of a few neon lights and planted on fierce cinder blocks, Christophe Macé and Lotus Eddé-Khouri launched a challenge called Cosy.
Cosy is one of the 5 choreographic miniatures, which the two accomplices, one sculptor and the other dancer, tenderly call Structure-Couple. For each of them, a popular song remixed by Jean-Luc Guionnet, a minimal scenography guiding the radicality of a repeated gesture, composes an obstinate dance. Within the high walls of LE BAL, within Barbara Probst's exhibition, the duo confronts their serious looks and the tension of their muscles with the successive volutes of a determined rap. The stretching of time multiplies the body's snags, stirs up the flaws and manages to suspend us to their every move and gesture.
