This book follows the curatorial experience La Traversée des Inquiétudes, conducted by Léa Bismuth at the Labanque visual arts production and distribution centre in Béthune from 2016 to 2019, but does not constitute its catalogue. These exhibitions, freely inspired by Georges Bataille's thought, have allowed the emergence of a new form of extended knowledge in this book with writers, philosophers and artists.
WE'D LIKE TO PUT EVERYTHING IN A BOOK. TO DO SOMETHING WITH THE CHAOS OF THE PRESENT. NECESSITY, LABOUR, PLOUGHING, WORRYING TASK THAT ROLLS FROM AGE TO AGE. IMAGES WHISPER IN OUR EARS. SOME HAVE AN IMPACT FORCE, OTHERS REMAIN IN WORK. FROM THEM, AN UNASSIGNABLE FORM APPEARS. A WRITING. A MATTER OF HAND AND EYE, PROVEN BODIES AND LANDSCAPES TO BE REINVENTED, ASSEMBLY AND FLOW RESISTANCE. ON THE BUSINESS. THE NEED FOR IMAGES.
