Super Vision

Born in Brussels in 1976, and based in Manchester, the artist Mishka Henner defies traditional documentary photography norms. His images belong to a multitude of sources – Internet, images satellites, television… They question constantly the author position, from the aerial view of Google Earth to the street prostitution snaped by Google Street View. In 2012, in his set Less Américains, he removes the faces from the mythical book Americans by Robert Frank, and initiates a passionate debate in Europe and in North America about appropriation and the images status in the numerical era.

Mishka Henner received in 2013 the ICP Infinity Award for Art and has been pre-selected for the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2013.
